"Healing is the removal of dis-ease.  Once this is understood it will become easier to understand what it is to be a provider of healing - a healer.

Healing is...

Healing is not the diverting of the step from the chosen path, nor is it the resolution of all ills that prevail.  Rather, healing is the giving of choice to the soul, it is the re-positioning of ease, the reinforcement of the strength to take the next step along the chosen path.

The Healer...

So what is the role of the healer in all of this?  Again, let me tell you what a healer is not.  A healer is not a magician.  A healer cannot change the path for that is something that sits with the journeyer and has been chosen before this existence began.  Nor can a healer work miracles.  So what then is the healer?  The healer is a channel, a broad conduit of energy that streams from Spirit to strengthen and support the journeyer in the choice of next step.  The healer is the helper who the journeyer may choose to enlist to alleviate dis-ease.

The Channel...

You will see that in all of this it is the role, not of the healer, but of the individual seeking the healing that is emphasised.  Healers offer themselves as channels for Spirit to assist the journeyer to move forward to the next stage.  It is for this reason that healing must be requested and not given otherwise.  Healing provided without request cannot be.  In order for healing to be effective, the journeyer must first ask for assistance.  It is not the role of the healer to behave as an almighty omniscient, handing down direction, for how would the soul ever then learn and develop?  It is the role of the healer to be available, to offer the channel and to assist the journeyer to develop the strength for the next step.  Healing freely given in this way, with love and with the intent of relieving dis-ease; healing given at the request of the journeyer who is unable to take the next necessary step; this is the only true healing and it is the most powerful of all.

The Healing...

For many, healing is the physical resolution of ill, the returning of the body to health, the removal of pain, the reduction of swelling in a burn, the alleviation of an ache.  All of these are so.  Yet also consider another healing, that which does not necessarily manifest itself in this way.  Healing is also the readying for the next step.  This may not result in the dispelling of the ache or the reduction in the swelling for these may be necessary physical manifestations to be taken along the path.  In this case is the healing ineffective?  Only the journeyer can say.  Yet there is not a journeyer who having requested healing has not received benefit.

The Final Stage...

Yet what of the instance where the journeyer is reaching the end of the earthly stage?  The healer is unable to prevent the soul from passing over at its duly appointed time.  Nor should any healer try to do so or be swayed by others to attempt to do so since this will only end in disappointment for all.  This is not the role of the healer.  For remember, the healer is a channel.  The healer does not control the outcome.  The role of the healer is to assist in best equipping the soul for the final stages of the journey, to assist in readying it for the passing.  Let no healer either avoid channelling for those on the final stage of the journey or be afraid of the outcome.  It is not for the healer to decide.  Each soul has selected its own destiny, its own journey, its own path.  The healer is a helper.  This is the true role of the healer."
