The Early Healings
This is an extract from our upcoming book on healing...
I set about my early healing experiences with the wonder of a small child. A child who has received the most fantastic of presents and cannot wait to play with it at every opportunity. This is what I would now call the familiarisation phase. Children accept these things with wonder and curiosity. Naturally. For adults, it is somewhat different – naturally! So imagine that you have been given the most powerful of cars – a Ferrari perhaps or an Aston Martin. You cannot wait to try it out, to unleash its full power, yet you are unable to do so. You must first learn to get it out of the driveway and negotiate it onto the main road. You then have to learn how to drive it with care before at last you are able to get it to a nearby motorway and begin to put it through its paces. But still you are constrained. By speed limits. By traffic. But above all by your own abilities. You do not yet have the correct feel for the car. You recognise its power. You recognise that if you persevere, if you try harder, if you take the time to explore how it responds, how it moves, then one day you might be able to drive it to its potential. To drive it to the best of your ability. To fulfil your potential. Or at least get closer to it than you did on day one.
Healing is no different.
It is the most powerful present, car, machine, call it what you will. It is the most powerful of life forces and it requires the healer to learn how to channel it, how to listen to the guides and surgeons who wish to work with the healer. It requires you to put self aside. It requires you to enter a state of pure listening.
How many of us are truly able to enter that state I wonder?
Many years ago, I remember going into a dead room – by that I mean one which is used to measure sound, one in which there is no external noise whatsoever. For many this is the most unpleasant of experiences. I happen to have found it one of the most uplifting. In the absence of noise there is no alternative but to listen to the voices within. To reach deep inside yourself and listen truly to what you are being told. The heightening of the senses that takes place in this kind of scenario is out of this world. Try closing your eyes too. Now the senses are reduced by two. You cannot hear, for there is nothing to hear and you cannot see. With what are you left? Touch? There is nothing to touch if you are able to exclude the contact that your feet are making with the floor. Smell? Inevitably some smells will prevail, since we all give off some form of smell as does every other object with which we come into contact. Ignore it. What about taste then? Nothing to taste. So here we are in this dead room. Our senses have been reduced to the basest of functional levels. We have no point of reference, nothing to hang on to. So where do we go? This is the moment that many would choose to flee – to open the door and remove themselves back into a state in which there is familiarity. As a healer I choose not to do this, for this is the ideal state to which I aspire. In this kind of state I am totally in tune with Spirit and with my guides. This is the state to which I move when healing at the most intense of levels. This is the state which takes the longest to get to. Having reached it, it is the most rewarding and uplifting of all. It is the Ferrari on the open road. No traffic. No speed limits. Man and machine in harmony. Each behaving in a complementary fashion. The feeling that you get when everything is working to its optimal level. The rush that you get from having attained the summit of your own personal Everest. In this state your senses have attained true clarity. I work in total collaboration with Spirit. I am outside my own self. I am consumed by light and I am channelling the purest of healing forms.
So let me bring it all back down to earth – how do you think that makes the majority of patients feel? There they are, sitting, standing, lying down, whatever, with this person they may not have met before who suddenly hops off into a trance like state. Tremendous! It is a great state to be in from the healer’s perspective but not so good for the bedside manner. The next stage on is then the ability to enter this state whilst also remaining grounded and communicating with the patient. A very difficult stage to be in and not one which you are able to enter until you have passed through the familiarisation phase. This again is healing in one of its more advanced stages. The ability to work across dimensions. To allow yourself to be the channel for the healing life force from Spirit whilst also communicating in a grounded manner with the patient who may be experiencing all manner of sensations and feelings as the guides and surgeons go about their work. This is not a state which you can be trained to attain I would suggest. It is one which you arrive at with practice.
Back to the Ferrari.
You are now able to concentrate intensely on the driving to get the best from the machine but because you are comfortable with it, you are also able to hold a conversation with the passenger who is sitting by your side. Neither of you feel fear. It is the most natural of things. That then is the more advanced stage of healing. And on from there? Where do you go next? Remote healing perhaps? The ability to hop across dimensions and time to work on the ailments of people remotely, to converse with them on the soul level whilst also channelling guide based healing on their physical form which is separated from you by distance?...
